Stéphane was born near Lyon in 1978. He went through the French educational system with much success and graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie de Paris (ESPCI), formerly directed by Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, winner of the Nobel prize in physics. He got a PhD in acoustics and instrumentation, including three years working at the University of California, San Diego and the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.

After six years in the US, he decided to come back to Europe and settle down in Spain. From then on, his experience in the field of instrumentation and electronics has helped him create a comfortable and energetically independent home by utilizing various energy sources (sun, water, gravity...).

He experienced the raw food diet during his stay in the US. He has been eating only raw food since the end of 2004.

Claire was born in Paris but spent her childhood in a small town in the northern suburbs of Paris, surrounded by large forests that gave her a taste for nature and sport. She graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie de Paris (ESPCI) and got a PhD in Material Science. She did her doctoral work at the University of Montpellier in collaboration with the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) on nuclear waste treatment and containment. She joined Stephane in San Diego and worked as a postdoc in the fields of microfluidics and biophysics (at UCSD).

Claire has always been attracted by the Spanish culture, language, and way of life. For her, moving to Spain was not a problem. Her enthusiasm and her ability to speak Spanish helped us integrate into the village and the valley.

She experienced the raw food diet with Stéphane and they both decided to go on experimenting with this way of eating.
